If I had an electric car, how would I be able to use it?”

This is the electric car charging station at Benjakitti Park. I had some time today, so I stopped by to measure the height. The point where you need to unlock and pull the charging plug to connect to the car, as indicated by the arrow, is very high.

From what I’ve seen, every charging station has this issue.
1. Assuming I bought an electric car, I, as a wheelchair user, would not be able to use it at all.
2. Assuming someone short in height wants to use it, they wouldn’t be able to either.
3. Assuming an electric car owner suddenly needs to use a wheelchair, they would eventually face the same problem I’m having.

Let’s not even discuss the law, but I’m surprised that the designers didn’t consider Universal Design or think about all user groups.

The bigger issue is that you’re missing out on customers like the ones I’m talking about.

Just lower the charging stations—all of them. It’s an easy fix. Let the designers try sitting in a wheelchair and see for themselves.
