The U.S. State Department maintains a system for evaluating international schools on learning support, called the Special Needs Profile, so diplomats and families can search for information before relocating. Transparent, searchable information — this is making education access infrastructure. It covers schools across many countries worldwide, not an afterthought.
International School Bangkok (ISB) is one example — Thailand’s first international school, founded in 1951, serving students ages 3–18. It has a Learning Support Center with special education specialists, speech-language pathologists, and school psychologists. It has been formally evaluated through this system.
If you are moving countries with a child who needs learning support — do not wait until you arrive to start searching. Research beforehand. Ask schools directly. Use the tools available. Preparing with information is your right, not asking anyone for a favor. Because accessible information is the first step to every opportunity.
