Travel is freedom, not fear — today, over 200,000 people with visual impairments in Thailand can finally experience what that freedom feels like. The MRTA has installed tactile maps with Braille at all 16 stations of the Purple Line, complete with QR codes for instant audio guidance.
This project stems from a Supreme Administrative Court ruling that mandates government agencies to ensure equal access. The MRTA partnered with the Thailand Association of the Blind to design maps based on actual station proportions — not just text, but a true understanding of every level, exit, and connection point through fingertips.

Thailand 🇹🇭 is home to over 200,000 people with visual impairments, and every one of them has the right to travel with dignity. This is the challenge we must accelerate — to make every public transportation system belong to everyone.
Mobility is a fundamental right. Regardless of how our bodies change, we all have equal rights to move freely.
