Temporary walkway for the Victory Monument Skywalk construction project – nicely done.

A temporary walkway is an alternative route provided for the public to use during construction. I think it has only just been set up, so it may still need some adjustments. But at least we are seeing something I never thought we would see. Much appreciated.

  • “Green Bridge”

    “Green Bridge”

As someone who runs regularly, I have been noticing the issues with the Green Bridge for a long time and have had opportunities to provide information about them. When Traffy Fondue was introduced, I submitted a ticket in April 2023. In total, it probably took around five years for the issue to be resolved during Chadchart’s first term, which is truly something worth appreciating. I should have sometime check it out. • Public transport infrastructure should be designed for safety from the start

Public transport infrastructure should be designed for safety from the start

From the train-on-level-crossing crash issue — this kind of thing happens all over the world. We just heard about a near-miss in Florida: a school bus driver ignored red warning signals with 29 students on board. Almost a major disaster. The main causes are level crossings and human error. Every country with rail systems and level crossings faces the same problem. Europe has over 100,000 level crossings, North America over 200,000. Each year, about 400 people die from level crossing accidents in the EU, and over 300 in the US. Combined globally, it’s thousands per year. Trains are incredibly heavy…

Railway crossing accidents in Thailand: 77 crashes/year, 28 deaths/year – and 621 crossings have zero protection!!!

Yesterday’s train-bus collision at Makkasan crossing wasn’t the first, and it won’t be the last unless we fix this systemically. Here’s what the State Railway of Thailand’s data (April 2025) tells me: We have 2,639 railway crossings nationwide. Of those, 1,149 have boom barriers. Only 6 have flashing lights AND sensors. 173 have warning signs only. 173 are underpasses. And critically — 621 are illegal crossings with zero protection at all. That’s a statistic, this can’t be accepted. What about government policy? The Department of Rail Transport has a 9-strategy, 3-phase, 5-sector plan. The Ministry of Transport has open data.…
